Time flies..

When you're having fun!! Sorry for my lack of updates..! I've been busy with wedding planning, work, training, started a French course(don't know what I was thinking but I'll do my best..!) and also it was time for some VACATION in the middle of all that! Have been living too well, these couple of weeks.. So those earlier weeks of training just said "POOF!" and I think I have to start all over again, start to pay again in sweat.. well, well.. It was worth it!

Went to Corsica for a week, back to where it all begun.. the love story.. :D I love that beautiful island, when we arrived it felt like no time had passed. It felt like home.
Ate the world's best pizza every single day at lunchtime, my one and only "Dame Blanche" at La Crêperie, in Île Rousse where we stayed. I've missed that pizza for six loooong years! Best served with lots of chili oil on it and a great big Pietra(Corsican chestnut beer) on the side.. Mmm.. We had wonderful warm weather, met some old and some new friends. Drank sangria and a whole lot of rosé wine!
And here's a treat! We tried climbing outdoors for the first time, what a rush! I'm definitely hooked, have already been checking out equipment and possibilities for climbing in Copenhagen. (So I'm prepared to get started, when we move there.)
The week afterwards, we spent in Denmark. Went to Odense(home town of the beloved writer H.C.Andersen) and of course, Copenhagen. A super great week as well, but a bit more exhausting with a more packed schedule than the week before. I'll post some pictures from the vacation during this week, I promise!

We started our homecoming with birthday celebrations.. my fiancée had his birthday last week. I made it my mission to make a chocolate/blueberry birthday cake with merengue inside. It didn't look the best(loving the colour palette though), the chocolate layering got a bit out of controll. But it tasted really good..if I may say so myself!! Speaking about cakes, have to decide what the wedding cake should taste like soon. We have decided on the outside and found the person/company to bake it. We just have to try some different flavour combinations, then we're all set. (Tips on tasty combos are welcomed!)

Also got some flowers from visiting birthday guests this weekend.. I bought him a Chili plant, it's called 'Basket of Fire'. He's or we've been looking for some good hot chili peppers to use, so he can make us our own chili oil here at home. I found this plant(and YES it is hot, hot, hot..!) the day of his birthday and it felt like a sign to buy it. I'll do a separate post later, so you can see the new plant in our appartment! Ahh, the benefits of living together and be able to enjoy someone else's birthday presents!!

Pillow Decor Contest - Drömkudden

I have entered a contest, the decor on a pillow case for a hotel company. The company is Ibis Styles, and the one who wins can win 20 000 SEK(Swedish crowns) or a holiday weekend for two on one of the company's hotels!  Yes, please!! If I need to put a reminder out there, you guys know I'm getting married this winter..so any of the prices would be just perfect, especially the financial contribution!

Here are my entries in the competition!
The first one is called "Whomever I want to be" (my favourite)

and the other one is called "Mörker i djupet".
(And you may recognize it, because it's an old drawing from school. But I saw the last day of the competition that you could enter two pieces, so I did. I liked the idea of a nightmare on the pillow case.)

I can win if I get chosen by Ibis Styles or by "People's choice", so I need your help..! You can vote ONCE a day(remember that!), until the 15th of September. So please, vote on ME and share on Facebook/Twitter! :D VOTE HERE! (webpage in Swedish)

Bridal Bouquets.. so much inspiration!

I've narrowed it down to these lovely bouquets.. to be the inspiration for my own bouquet on the big day. I collected them on Pinterest, so I knew I would remember them.
I'm not sure on the colour or the final flowers yet. Our wedding will have grey and lime/green as the theme colours. I would like some lime/greens in the bridal bouquet, as well in the corsage/boutonnieres for the men. Of course the ribbon used on the handle/also hanging down - should be grey, with maybe a little bit of silver shimmer in it.
But this one below is really one of my favourite ones.. with perfect flowers for the winter season. That's good to think about! Or else your wedding flowers might end up costing you a fortune and the qualite of the flowers may be poor if it's not the right season for them. If you're in doubt, talk with a florist - they should know what's best!

Playing with Patterns, part two - Primula and Linnaea

Here are some more patterns from my last school project. For the moment I'm actually trying to get all the invitations for the wedding ready. I've done a new pattern(I'll show you soon..) just for the wedding, for us. It was really fun.
The hardest part with all this wedding planning, is knowing where to draw the line.. friends/family, who gets invited..?! This really was a tough cookie, I'll tell you! Who am I/we keeping in touch with, who knows us and the worst part, how many can we afford to have there..?! This is a time when you really just hope to win some extra money, so everybody could join us.

Wedding inspiration and DIY

Gathering inspiration for the wedding and especially the invites, these last weeks.. In between working, training and enjoying the summer(have been quite good on that this year, although it's easier when served with gorgeous and hot weather). So that's why I haven't been posting new stuff that often, here on the blog. We also went on a minivacation to Gothenburg and the south of Sweden, last weekend.
But soon the invites are ready to get shipped away! We have some people living abroad that we want to invite, so it seemed good to have the invites out early. I have made my own pattern and symbols for the invites, menus and program. Now we just have to print, glue and finalize with some ribbons in the end. Who knew wedding planning could be so much fun!

Avocado Tree - hanging leaves?!

Ohh, I'm really struggling with this tree.. or at least, I think I am. It's growing and all, and I recently put it into a new and bigger pot. But the leaves..! Every other day, they keep hanging! I blame it on the weather, we're going from exremely hot and sunny one day, to a bit cold and heavy clouds the other. So I guess, the watering get's a bit uneven. But I had a look at the roots, when I transplanted it the other day. They look strong and healthy. And the leaves are nice and green, so maybe it's just the way they grow.. hanging a bit more then other trees. I'll keep on fighting and nurturing my little tree. The next time I'm in a garden centre though, I think I'm going to ask around for some pointers on the subject.
The goal is to for the avocado tree to tag along, when we move to Copenhagen next year. Hopefully we'll get an appartment or house with some sort of outdoor room/place/balcony. So I can have it outside..! I'll keep you posted, and if there is anyone out there with more experience with this particular tree than me..? I can use the tips, explanations or encouragements possible.

30th birthday celebration

Today is all about resting, and adjusting the fluid balance in my body..haha. Yesterday I went to a friend's 30th birthday party. It was awesome, good food, games and a lot of laughs. I made her a card to go with her gift.
A fair few has contacted me, wanting to see more from my last school project. Stay tuned! I'll post some more images, prints and patterns from the project during next week.

My zoom steed "Sigte"

This is the last one of the animal prints/illustrations in the school project inspired by Nordic nature and modern lifestyle. After this one I will show the floral/tree prints and patterns I made for the project.
