I want to say a special thanks to our photopgraphers on our day, they were amazing and I highly recommend them! The pictures are perfect in every way, more than I could ever imagine them to be and we are so glad we got the opportunity to work with these professionals.

I'm sorry for the lack of updates, honeymooning a bit.. and I haven't really digest all the impressions from that awesome day yet. It really was the best day of my life, I find it hard to describe the feeling and the emotions that day! And to have all your friends and family gathered to celebrate our love, touched me to the core.. I am forever grateful. We are now Husband and Wife, and I couldn't be happier!!!

There will be more blogposts soon, I just want to look at all the pictures from the day. I need to process the memories, before I start explaining the preparations and the events of the day. But for now we will just enjoy, remember, treasure and relax.. I love that we have a "forever-ever-ever" to look forward to, me and my gorgeous new husband.

Bridal hair style inspo!

This is the final wedding inspiration for my hair, on the big day! Fun, fun.. We'll try to get my hair style to look something like the beautiful Jessica Alba's hair above.. I've been making my own hair jewelry. I've realized that I'm not really the crown or tiara kind of person. But something soft glimmery, wintery and selfmade is really my cup of tea. A bit asymmetrical placed, to make it interesting. I'll post the final results after the wedding, I don't want to spoil the first impression of me as a bride. (For people attending..)

White DIP DIY Cones

Before christmas I dipped some cones in a bucket of white leftover paint, and the result is super decorative. Have tried something similar before, but that time it involved glue and pearls/beads around the cones. The end result of that, wasn't that good.. so I'm working on perfecting it!
But back to my Dip DIY cones, super easy! Just take some iron thread and stick it in the cone, dip it in the color, let it drip and then when it's not dripping as much - move it to a spot where it can hang for a while, preferably with something covering up the surface underneath. I my case, I hung them for a while on a chair with a lot of old papers underneath, as protection. I let them hang there for a couple of hours, then I pulled out the iron thread and just covered up the holes it left, with some brush strokes of paint.
Before and during Christmas and New Year's, I used cones that I had colored the same way, in bouquets and decorations. With the paint being a bit shiny, it made a great contrast to several of the flowers and greens that I used. (Unfortunately, I never took any pictures of it.. didn't have the time.)
Right now I'm enjoying tulips at home, as should you. Don't forget tomorrow is "Tulip Day", so go get yourself some crisp fresh tulips. Perfect for filling that void, now when all those Christmas decorations has disappeared once more..

December findings..

Found some new Christmas decorations for the seasonal collection, when I was in Stockholm last weekend. Something old(second hand) and something new. Couldn't resist that little black/dark grey glitter owl for the tree. It was time to light the third candle today..

Guestblogger at Nordic Living!

Check out my piece on the importance of color, breaking habits and doing things we really want to - especially this time a year! It's the perfect time for accomplishing your goals. Guestblogging at the great source of inspiration, one of my favourite blogs

- NORDIC LIVING tomorrow, 4th of December!

And while you're at it, remember to browse their online store, Nordic Design Collective for design goodies! Maybe you'll find some Christmas gifts or the perfect decorations.. for yourself or someone else?? Their selection of cards are beautiful and fun! Or create your own, with their cute stamps!? I'm loving the one called "Ekollon" (Acorn - in English), that's definitely my favourite. Perfect for making small cards and putting them as a finishing touch, while gift wrapping.

For the moment, I'm coloring up for the jolly season ahead!

RE:plantation!

Making a better home, for some orchids..!

Yes, I do believe in putting orchids in glass pots and vases.
It's a good concept (if you want them to bloom), at least that´s my experience.

As you can see, one of the orchids was growing "out of"..up, up and away from its current pot!

If the barch or the so called "orchid soil" is like the picture on the left, and has disintegrated so much. You need to transplant and get some new, whole and fresh barch for your plant(like the picture, on the right).
That way, your orchid will get proper air circulation to dry their roots.
If not, there is a higher risk for your orchid's roots to rot.

Make sure you cut the plant clean from dry, old stems, air roots or flowers.. before transplanting.

I always place the orchid's roots in a bowl or bucket filled with water.
I leave it there, while I'm preparing the pot/vase or at least until the roots stop making bubbles.

That way the roots get softer and "well-fed"
before moving to a new or slightly refreshed place.
Less risk of breaking any roots during your transplanting.

When you plant in glass, you can see the roots growing
and when/if they´re in need of humidity!

Vanilla Orchid

 Oncidium Twinkle

Besides the more common orchids you see everywhere, Phalaenopsis, this was one of the first "different" orchids I ever bought. This one in particular, I got for it's incredible scent and delicate flowers. Then when the blooming was over, it was just a green plant in my window. It has followed me wherever I moved, but no new flowers, for 10 years! Even my future-husband hasn't been present in my life for that long..!
The orchid has always looked green and healthy, and I just never could bring myself to give up on it. This summer before we went on vacation, I put it in a glas pot and soaked it with a fair amount of water. And after that I just kept giving it a lot more water, than before.. I just thought, I must change my stategy for something to happen. That was the key.. As you can see, small buds slowly appeared! Now it's here, in all it's glory, spreading a lovely scent of vanilla in the whole appartment. A good vanilla scent, not the kind you feel sick from..haha.. That's what I call a 10 year-anniversary!

Wedding Invitation

Here you have them, our wedding invitations by yours truly. They have been sent out, a while ago, but it took some hours to finalize it all. Drawing, coloring, composing, typing, cutting, arranging, rearranging, glueing, writing.. that is what they call D-I-Y, my friends! A bit old school, with our grey and greens-theme(as the rest of the wedding decor). Also the hearts and pretty snowflakes in the pattern, to go with the chosen season for the event. It's getting closer, in a few days - it will be just 3 months left..!!

If I jump, you jump..

I got kidnapped this weekend and it was time for my bachelorette/hen party. Among other things, I got to go parachuting! My lovely friends, family and fiancé, tricked me.. Not cool and very scary not to know what's awaiting you, but it was awesome! Although it was a fun day, it was a very long and eventful day. I think the drinks and the bad dance moves got the best out of me and my energy at the end of the evening.. But as they have told me, you're allowed to act a little when you're wearing a crown/hat and a tutu,haha.. I had a extraordinary great day, and a great headache the day after.
The parachuting part was amazing, and it was kind of unsettling how good it felt throwing yourself out of a plane. I have scheduled to do a skydive three times before, but everytime they had to cancel due to bad weather. So I got a bit spooked, felt like I wasn't supposed to do it. So when it finally happened now, I felt extremely happy and could cross that off the bucketlist!
The part I feel the most humble and honoured about, is the way people really had put in the effort, time, planning, travel and heart to be there for me. It was really touching and fantastic, you guys are the best! The whole day, weekend really became a beautiful emotional rollercoaster!

The Times They Are A-Changin'..

In between seasons, I'll say..! Summer, autumn, now winter..?! The usual change of seasons has passed by in warp speed!! It was apparently too fast for some plants as well! I had just got that autumn feeling, and realized that summer was over for the year. Summer and it's warm temperature lasted for a very long time this year. But it seems that the current season, fall/autumn, is getting shorter..?! With less than four months until the wedding, I don't mind.
Now.. it's been snowing. SNOW!! I love winter.
