Added together, the demands made by each and every on of us - humanity's Ecological Footprint - are far too much for our planet. 50 % too much, in fact. A good start for lightening you load on our planet is to first understand where your own impacts come from.

SpringTime & Sushi

 This weekend was fantastic, it was a bit too windy but the signs of spring were everywhere in Copenhagen and it's not even March yet.

When in Copenhagen and if you're craving sushi, you should go to Sticks'n'Sushi. I always go there, everytime I'm there. It has become a tradition, because it's just so delicious sushi and always good service.
But remember always make sure that it's sustainable fish and seafood you're ordering.

After a rough week 

with a lot of hard work, little sleep and up's & down's.. I'm spending the weekend in Copenhagen! In my opinion, one of the best cities in the world. :)

French Dragonball

Today a classmate lent me Dragonball, in french! So now I can get some asian style comic book inspiration(haven't read that much of the genre, so I'm taking in little by little now - to broaden my knowledge) and at the same time practice my french!

And perfect reading when travelling, like tomorrow for example.. when I'm off to Copenhagen!

Fettisdagen - Mardi Gras

Today it's tradition to eat one of these!

Mmmm...! Lots of whipped cream, and I eat mine with jam or vanilla custard(more common in Norway and Denmark) instead of the traditional Swedish almond icing inside the bun.

And while I'm already on the subject, here is another cake we made during my education to become a florist! Not that edible though.. but it looks tasty!

Upside Down Planter

These fun Sky planters by Boskke are simple and round, you can buy them in black and white. They require water a fraction as frequently as normal right-side-up potted plants.

How does it work? A disk holds the hanging plant and soil in place and the process of pouring water in the pot from above is suddenly mess-free as well.

Conserve water

Potted plants commonly lose water through evaporation and drainage. The Boskke Sky Planter’s unique reservoir feeds water gradually to the plant’s roots. Because there is no excess water to drain away, they can be used indoors, without losing water to evaporation.

Creative Wednesday

I've got a cold so I decided to do some school work at home, and just have a creative day. And I don't know if it's all the creativity today, but I feel better! Now if you guys excuse me, I'm going to continue on my sketch of the Joker..

Happy Valentine's Day to all of you!

Remember it's the thought that counts, you don't have to buy a lot or something expensive to prove your love for someone! And it's easy to use the social media services or a homemade card or a simple sms/mms/e-mail, to show how much you appreciate a person. 

If you do want to buy something it's always safe to choose from the classics - Roses (But in my opinion and experience a favourite flower or a rose in one's favourite colour is sometimes better than the classic red one. The gesture says "I love you" not the colour) and Chocolate (Espacially since there so many different chocolates to choose between, or maybe another personal candy favourite)!

It's wonderful to have a day to celebrate love.

Stockholm!

This weekend I'm taking the train to Stockholm for some fun! I'm going to see some friends I haven't seen in a while, and also a few family members. I'm hoping on some great shopping opportunities, inspiration and wonderful weather. 

It's going to be a good weekend, and I wish you the same!

Cooking step by step

I bought this practical piece called "Basic" from Village, a Swedish design store. I want to have the shelf stand in the kitchen. With cooking books, beans, herbs, seeds, pasta and other things you need when you're cooking or baking on every "step" (it's designed as a ladder). 

I'm sure it will help to spice up the cooking experience..! 

Now I just need to plant some seeds to get some more herbs that I want in the kitchen, but it will probably take a while before I get them up on the shelfs.

This is an old comic page I made. As you now I care a lot about the ocean and I'm against over-fishing and illegal fishing, and this was an early thing I made. (Unfortunately in Swedish only, but stay tuned there will be more comics in English as well.. soon!)

Joy in a Carafe!

I received a fantastic gift.. A new Eva Solo fridge carafe! (Danish brand) 

I had one before, but let's just say that there was an accident.. But now I got a new one and it's bigger and with a fantastic colour on the insulating cover. It's a great carafe, and the most wonderful thing about it - it doesn't drip!

Packed with inspiration!

A new year, a new school semester and a lot of new things to learn! A package arrived yesterday with some of the course literature for this semester.

And also two children's books/comic books by one of my favourite artists Jill Thompson. Pure inspiration for me, I can really recommend the whole series. Especially if you have kids, because it's absolute fun for parents and children alike!

Cotton Eye Candy

Monday morning.. and I have so much energy today that I started to move things around in the appartment, a few frames and my vase with cotton and witch hazel(in swedish: bomull och trollhassel) changed places. 

I have a lot of new ideas and a lot of inspiration. It has been a good weekend and I bought a few new things to fill my home with, but more on that later.. It's going to be a great week, now off to school!

Floral inspiration in NY

When I was in New York I saw this beautiful floral design shop in Tribeca.

My heart jumped when I saw it, it was amazing. Every decoration was perfectly done and all the colours in perfect harmony or deliberate contrast to one another. Ahh, I want to go back..! In the meantime it will just have to do looking at pictures from their website and some old photos..

I would love to work in a place like Flora sometime, because that is the kind of style I love.. An experimental, expressive and fun perfection..!
